A Festivus for the Rest of Us
With Saint Nicholas Day, Christmas, Boxing Day, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa all in December, I urge everyone to remember, Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us.
“This December holiday seems comparable to April Fool’s Day, mixed with a 30th birthday party, and then mixed with an ugly Christmas sweater party. It was created (basically) for fun and made popular by the television sitcom Seinfeld. Make it whatever you want, whether that’s celebrating your pet peeves, how much [#humpday] suck, cats in sinks, or whatever else suits your fancy. (goabroad.com).”
Though, traditionally celebrated on December 23, the only rule of Festivus is that you celebrate the holiday in December, “and do so happily and creatively.” Can you guess what I’m doing today?
